what do you do when there's no one around to take a picture???

you put your kids in front of a mirror (aka the back of the hotel closet door) and make funny faces to make them smile! i giggle about this picture because we look like total dorks and they are looking at us thinking, what in the world are they doing?

the best ever!

the best "bugism" (thank you jana fleming for naming her funny comments this) is the most recent bedtime chat. i had laid down with betsy grace to get her to go to sleep and i leaned over and whispered in her ear, " i love you betsy grace harrison..." then she said it. she sweetly leans in touches my cheek and says, " mommy, i love you bigger." my heart swelled with joy and the biggest grin that could fit on my face stretched from ear to ear! i mean really!!! i love you bigger! where did she get that!?! i love it! now, she says it all the time. she makes me laugh everyday! she truly is joy personified! thank you Jesus! m

so, still need to post a SIX month post AND a SEVEN month post because we are almost ready for an EIGHT month post! seriously!!! where does the time go? here are my beauties! please know we are working on growing hair and controlling the drooling problem! (hehe) they are playing so well together and we are loving life with two punkin' girls! m

SIXTH MONTH POST COMING!!!!!

hi guys... so sorry for the absence. another very busy week!!! here's little lucy beth's 6 month stats.
length: 27 1/2 inches long (97th percentile)
head circumference: can't remember (off the chart)
weight: (get ready!) 21 pounds 12 ounces (again, off the chart)
that's right folks, we have a very healthy baby doll. she continues to be a sweetheart! she is super interested and curious about everything and wants to be a big girl like her sister so badly! i giggle when i think about how our lives have changed with the addition of our two babies! finding sippy cups in baby beds with baby dolls, just in case they are thirsty when they wake up from their naps, betsy grace says. finding tiny pacifiers under pillows and on the floor where lucy beth has hurled them from her play toys. monitors resting on dressers in our bedroom to keep up with the small noises in the night. baby spoons and baby bibs around the sink in the kitchen. oh, and one of my favorites, hand painted art work placed neatly on our fridge with huge letter magnets. boy, has our life changed! definitely for the better! i can't imagine life without these two beauties!

i want THIS kind of determination!

my sweet husband is an avid hunter and has game camera's set up all over their ranch. when i was going through his pictures i found this VERY determined raccoon actually attempting to climb the pole to the feeder. THIS is the kind of determination i want in EVERYTHING! go little guy! i hope he got his dinner!

"oh, man"

"oh, man" is what betsy grace says ALL the time. anytime she drops something, or looses something, anytime! who knows where she learned it? i guess i must say it? anyway, i have been trying all day to upload pictures to both this and the banner blog and NOTHING is uploading. ugh! so, the sweet SIX month post of lucy goose will have to be postponed along with the really late FIVE month post. not a whole lot has changed from five to six... except, her two bottom teeth that popped through two weeks ago. they are so cute and she is definitely so proud of them. she is biting on everything and proudly opens her mouth really wide to show them to you. right now, i am LOVING watching her and betsy grace interact. just last week i was in my room and went running into the den because i thought she was crying... nope, she was laughing hysterically at her big sister. betsy grace had her green and gold pom-poms out and was performing the cheer "go, bears, go" for her sister. too bad my camera wasn't close. the very next day i overheard betsy grace telling lucy beth how to do something. she kept repeating over and over again, "do you hear me baby sister? i am telling you something... are you paying attention?" i was giggling all day. what a mother hen! oh, how i can't wait to watch them grow up! lucy beth already wants to do everything her big sister is doing and betsy grace adores her. praise God for my sweet blessings! m

lately, betsy grace has gotten funnier and funnier! here are a few recent conversations...

bg: (while holding her baby doll) "i'm HER mommy, mama", "i'm a good mommy"
me: "you are a good mommy, betsy grace"
bg: "mama, you change her clothes?!"
me: "but, betsy grace, you're her mommy"
bg: "no, i'm betsy grace!"

bg: (loudly, laughing, back seat of the car, around 6pm) "mama, i see the moon! and the moon sees me!!!!!"
" hi, moon! hi!!!!!"
"mommy, can the moon come to my house?"

daddy: (while opening the oven, talking to betsy grace) "get back, jack!"
bg: "i'm not jack, i'm betsy grace"

my favorite! you all know we call betsy grace, very affectionately, "bug"... right after nap time yesterday, she came walking into the kitchen to ask for some juice... i turned to her and said, "hey bug?" she quickly started looking around the floor and said "where, where!?!" i laughed out loud forever. she was really looking for a real bug!

we are so blessed by her! what a funny little 2 1/2 year old! 5 month post coming soon for lucy goose! xo, m
