betsy grace and the broken...

collarbone! yikes! monday night at 2:15am we heard a big scream. i ran into her room to find her on the floor. no biggie... she fell out of bed, right? i scooped her up, gently placed her on the pillow, and decided to sleep with her to make sure she was a.okay. she was a little weepy and continued to tell me that she hit her head. she quickly fell asleep... but kinda wimpered off and on all night. in the morning, bryan came in to get us and when he picked her up........ "OUCH!!!!!!!!!!" she screams. finally it hit me... it wasn't her head she was complaining about anymore but instead she was clinching her shoulder. for a second i thought she dislocated her shoulder, but she was just moving her arm too well. then it really hit me... her collarbone. we loaded up and headed to the ER with my incredible hubby holding her still in the back seat. what a precious kiddo! she didn't even cry, just sat quietly. then the xrays... trauma. then the diagnosis. a complete break of the left collarbone. they sent us home with a sling and some pain medicine. the sling we have to wear for 6 weeks... so, praise Jesus, we get it off one week before her baby sister comes out. crazy! i will post pictures soon. any advice from you veteran mom's with kids with broken bones??? it is super tough seeing your baby hurt like that! m
